GeoAcuity Successfully Conducts Cold-Weather UAS flights in support of AFC DEVCOM SC and US Army OWT Initiative

October 13th, 2022 - GeoAcuity traveled to Fairbanks, Alaska to carry out a high resolution UAS data collection in support of the U.S. Army’s Simulation and Training Technology Center (STTC), University of Southern California’s Institute of Creative Technology and the One World Terrain program. The abilities of two Blue approved UAS’s; the senseFly eBee TAC and the Parrot Anafi USA were put to the test in a harsh cold-weather operating environment, collecting large areas in below freezing, often times single digit temperatures. While challenging at times due to the environmental extremes the GeoAcuity staff persevered, all objectives were met, and valuable data sets were gathered that will be used to inform ongoing terrain research and development supporting both virtual and live training efforts at Solider Center STTC.
